Malaysia IPv6 Pretesting
Testing Overview
Malaysia’s communications regulatory framework requires network equipment to support IPv6, and the MCMC has issued corresponding product technical specifications. Malaysia IPv6 pretesting completes a rehearsal assessment against the target specification before formal submission, confirms the testing scope and acceptance requirements by device category, and resolves configuration and implementation gaps in advance so that formal submission becomes a confirmation step rather than a discovery process.
Applicable Product Scope
Terminal equipment, network equipment and network security equipment. This includes but is not limited to: Wi-Fi access points, televisions, telephones, mobile phones, tablets, IoT devices with IP access, layer-2 switches, cameras, PDAs, broadband remote access servers, layer-3 switches/routers, gateways, load balancers, base stations, firewalls, web application firewalls, network intrusion prevention systems and network intrusion detection systems.
Testing Content
Consumer products:
- RFC 8200 IPv6 specification
Enterprise / Service provider products:
- RFC 8200 IPv6 specification
- RFC 4861 Neighbor Discovery for IPv6
- RFC 4862 IPv6 Stateless Address Autoconfiguration
- RFC 8201 Path MTU Discovery for IPv6
- RFC 4443 Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMPv6)
Applicable Standards
- MCMC MTSFB TC T013:2019
- IPv6 Core Protocols Test Specification 5.1.4
Test Duration and Sample Requirements
The pretest duration depends on the product category (Consumer / Enterprise / Service Provider) and the number of test items; it is recommended to reserve time for remediation and retesting before formal submission. Samples are devices of the same model planned for the Malaysian market, covering the declared typical service forms, with the specific quantity and configuration confirmed after acceptance.
Our Capabilities
We understand the test organisation and acceptance requirements of the MCMC MTSFB TC T013 specification and can execute pretesting by product category. We deliver an issue list and remediation advice, track the retest results, and help clients enter the formal certification stage in an already-verified state.
