Certification Overview

CCC (China Compulsory Certification), commonly known as 3C, is China’s mandatory product conformity assessment system. It is enforced by the government to protect consumer safety, safeguard national security, and strengthen product quality management. Products listed in the Catalogue for Compulsory Product Certification must obtain CCC certification and bear the CCC mark before they can be manufactured, sold, imported, or used in any other business activity within China.

Product Scope

• Electric wires and cables: cables of all types, plugs and sockets
• Low-voltage electrical apparatus: switches, relays, residual current protectors
• Household appliances: refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, electric water heaters, electric fans
• Electronic products and safety accessories: audio and video equipment, IT equipment
• Automotive products and parts: vehicles, motorcycles, automotive safety glass, tires
• Construction materials: safety glass, solvent-based wood coatings
• Toys: child ride-ons, electric toys, plastic toys
• Security products: anti-theft doors, safes
• Explosion-proof electrical equipment: explosion-proof pumps, distribution devices, transformers

Certification Process

Application → Type testing → Initial factory inspection → Evaluation and approval → Follow-up surveillance

⚠️ Note: the certificate is normally valid for 5 years, with an annual review (including a factory inspection) after certification.
