Taiwan BSMI Certification
Certification Overview
BSMI certification is administered by the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection under Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs. It is a mandatory inspection regime applied to electronic and electrical products circulating in the Taiwan market under the Commodity Inspection Act.
Since January 1, 1999, Taiwan has applied dual control of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and safety to electronic and electrical products; from July 1, 2005 the regulated scope was further expanded, and relevant products entering the Taiwan market must satisfy both EMC and Safety requirements. Products listed in the inspection catalogue must obtain BSMI certification before they can be sold or used in Taiwan.
