Thailand PEA and MEA Listing for Inverters and EV Chargers

Inverters and charging stations exported to Thailand need PEA and MEA listing.

PEA and MEA are Thailand’s two major power utilities: PEA (Provincial Electricity Authority) supplies power to the provinces, while MEA (Metropolitan Electricity Authority) supplies Bangkok and its surrounding areas.

To ensure the safety of electrical equipment in the Thai market, all electrical equipment installed and used within their service territories must meet the technical requirements of PEA and MEA and obtain the corresponding registration listing.

PEA

After obtaining CB reports and EMC reports from a domestic laboratory, inverters, charging stations, and similar equipment must be assessed by PTEC, a laboratory recognized by Thailand’s PEA, which issues a new inspection report. After PEA’s review, the product information is published on its official website; the listing is valid for 3 years.

Application process

MEA

All charging stations installed within its service territory must be assessed by an MEA-recognized laboratory; the assessment can be applied for on the basis of CB reports and EMC reports. Lead time when we handle the application: 4 weeks
